Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu in Jerusalem, Israel is ornate inside and out, and is a special site for Christian pilgrims. The church is located on the eastern slope of Mount Zion, just outside the Old City of Jerusalem and the Zion Gate. The location has historical importance in that tradition says it to be the exact spot in which the High Priest Caiaphas' palace once stood, There are archeological findings to support this view. The name Gallicantu is a Latin word, meaning 'the cock's crow'. The church was dedicated to commemorate Peter's denial of Jesus Christ.
