Description
Mount Arbel is a beautiful mountain in The Lower Galilee near Tiberias in Israel, with high cliffs views of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights and The Sea of Galilee. This photograph was taken from The Valley of The Doves which is would have been the path Jesus would have walked to get to and from Nazareth. It shows the caves along its cliffs, which has served as a refuge to various people throughout the centuries to include the partisans of the Maccabees in 161 BC, rivals of Herod The Great in 38 BC, and Flavius Josephus in 66 AD. Thus, it is an important historical, archeological and nature site. "A hike to the top of Mount Arbel from the south is included in the Israel National Trail, and an approach from the west is part of the Jesus Trail; the trails converge temporarily at the peak."
