Description

This egret with twig in its beak is bringing yet one of many contributions to build and fortify a nest! This action photograph was taken at The Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida. Many wading birds from the area flock to the Alligator Farm's Wading Bird Rookery to mate, build nests and bring up their young. Herons, ibis, roseate spoonbills, wood storks and egrets enjoy the protection of this natural environment, and it is a wonderful experience to observe such beauty " in action" during Spring.
