The dedication ceremony for the Billy Graham Library took place on May 31, 2007, and was attended by former Presidents Carter, Clinton and Bush and a crowd of nearly 1,500. Billy Graham, known as America's pastor, and the most influential evangelist of our generation, grew up on a dairy farm in the outskirts of Charlotte, NC.. Thus, the Library "building is styled after a dairy barn, and the entrance to the Library is in the shape of a cross, a visual reminder to visitors that it is only through the Cross of Christ that we can be reconciled to God." Also, his restored boyhood home is just a short walk from the main Library building. "We are not lifting up or pointing to Billy Graham," says son Franklin Graham. "We are pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ." "According to Franklin, throughout the tour visitors will hear the Gospel presented and will have opportunity to respond to the message. The Billy Graham Library is not a memorial, nor is it a museum. The Billy Graham Library is a ministry, prayerfully planned with the intention of communicating the unchanging, life-giving message of Jesus Christ to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year who may never attend a Crusade."

What a beautiful, vibrant image of this renown location! I hope to visit someday... Fabulously composed, with the cheerful lighting, scenery and walkway beckoning the visitor to step onto the walkway and enjoy the view. This brings back memories of singing in the choir and later serving as a prayer counselor at Billy Graham meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1970s and again during his last meetings here in 1997.
