Description
The image through the branches is the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Savannah, Georgia. The church was organized in 1741, and the building was completed in 1879. It is on the national historical landmark registry. It combines Norman and Gothic architectural styles, and has beautiful stained glass windows in the sanctuary that depict the life of Jesus Christ. I visited this site in early Spring, and was able to capture this image before the leaves on this tree blocked the church building. The church is located on Wright Square.

What a lovely old tree! I really like the artistic curves of the branches and the subtle image of the church in the background.

We have a beautiful, old American Elm across the street from my Unitarian church, which is beginning to look as if it might die. It was a beautiful, shady "being", and will be missed. f/l
