"Three Wooden Crosses" is the title of a song written by Kim Williams and Doug Johnson, and recorded by American country music singer-songwriter Randy Travis. It was released in November 2002 from his album, Rise and Shine. The song became Travis' sixteenth Number One single, and his first since "Whisper My Name" in 1994.[1] In addition, it was named Song of the Year by the Country Music Association in 2003[2] and won a Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association as Country Song of the Year in 2004.[3]Throughout the song there is mention of "three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway." This is a dual reference to roadside memorials and to crosses that, in 1984, funded by Reverend Bernard Coffindaffer, began appearing on the sides of highways across the country. These crosses stand in the traditional Christian formation of a tall cross in the middle and two slightly shorter crosses on each side representing the Crucifixion of Jesus.

I was in...
I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a little girl, but especially began learning about the skill and art of photography in college; however, as years went by I, like most of us, put the camera in the drawer and would pull it out only for special occasions. For the most part, photography has been a passion that I put on the shelf; but now I have the opportunity to share with others some of my favorite photos, while exploring creative and new styles in photography and digital art. I enjoy taking photos of just about anything...animals, nature, vistas, people, architecture, and landscapes. I love it all! I am in awe of God's creation and ever so thankful that I have the opportunity to reflect a piece of it through a photograph. I hope...

When I saw your photo, I knew this had to be West Virginia! My hubby and I used to visit there quite frequently (especially to go camping!), and I had remarked more then once that I had never seen so many crosses and American flags, as I do there! Beautiful shot!!!! Blessings!
