This historical house is in Cades Cove which is located in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The house presently sits very close to the Cable Mill (grist) which is still operating and selling quality wheat flour and corn meal. The Cove began to become sparsely populated in the early 1800s and by 1850 it reached 685. John Cable moved to the cove in the 1860's and built the cove's grist and sawmill. He sold an acre of land, to Leason Gregg who built a house on the purchased land in 1879. The house was originally built on the Forge Creek Road location in the cove and moved from its original site to the Cable mill site years later. The Gregg-Cable house is the first full frame house built in the cove. It served the as a store downstairs and the Gregg family used the upstairs as living quarters.

I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a little girl, but especially began learning about the skill and art of photography in college; however, as years went by I, like most of us, put the camera in the drawer and would pull it out only for special occasions. For the most part, photography has been a passion that I put on the shelf; but now I have the opportunity to share with others some of my favorite photos,while exploring creative and new styles in photography and digital art.
