Artist's Description
This photograph of a yellow-headed Amazon parrot was taken in St. Augustine, Florida at The alligator Farm Zoological Park. These cute, predominately green, birds are endangered by habitat loss and over-collecting for pets. They primarily eat fruits, nuts, berries, blossoms and leaf buds and are indigenous to in Mexico northern Central America. They are among the best talkers in the parrot family!

I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a little girl, but especially began learning about the skill and art of photography in college; however, as years went by I, like most of us, put the camera in the drawer and would pull it out only for special occasions.
