Description
This photograph shows the unique trunk of an olive tree in the foreground with almond trees in the backgound. It is "almost Spring" but not quite. The terraced landscape is representative of agriculture/farming in the day of Jesus. Nazareth Village, where this image was captured, is in Nazareth, Israel. It is a representaion of how the village of Nazareth might have looked 2,000 years ago. Olives, olive oil, and olive trees are mentioned quite frequently in the Bible and Nazareth Village does an amazing job of cultivating the land to show how groves of trees looked in Bible times. “... but as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God” (Psalm 52:8) is one of a number of scriptures that mentions the olive tree.
