Description
It was an exhilarating experience as I stood in the middle of the famous South Michigan Avenue in Chicago to take this photograph. I was on my way (North) to the Art Institute on the right. The grandeur of the architecture that surrounds this area was so much to take in on my first visit to the Windy City. While technically this is not considered a part of the Magnificent Mile it was magnificent to me!
Major cultural institutions, such as the Chicago Cultural Center, Symphony Center, and the Auditorium Theater are located here, as are many late 19th and early 20th century skyscrapers.
