Oh how beautiful peach blossoms are! I took this photograph in a peach orchard in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The area has a number of orchards and when Spring comes these beautiful flowers come out and you can view them from the car, or take a closer look which is what I did when I took this photograph. South Carolina, The Palmetto State actually grows more peaches than Georgia, The Peach State. It ranks second in peach production in the United States, with California being the top producer. The peach became South Carolina's official state fruit in 1984. It grows over 30 different kinds of peaches and has been producing peaches commercially since the 1860s. The peach industry is indeed an important part of the state's overall agricultural production.
