This photograph was taken in the historical section of St. Augustine. The image shows part of the famous Bridge of Lions which is a double-leaf bascule bridge that spans the Intracoastal Waterway ( Matanzas Bay ) in St. Augustine, Florida. It connects Anastasia Island with Downtown St. Augustine. The bridge was built in 1926, and is named after the stone lions which are placed at the west end of the bridge. It is among the sites tourists enjoy in St. Augustine and it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
