Description
These soft and delicate shades of color represent the placid lake referred to as the Dead Sea. When I visited this area the water was so tranquil it looked like you could walk on it. Because of the heavy salt content it is impossible to sink in the Dead Sea which is good news for those of us who do not swim. The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth at about 1,000 feet below sea level. The reflections are outstanding! Thousands of visitors frequent the Dead Sea annually to get the health benefits derived from the lake water as well as experience floating in one of the saltiest bodies of water on earth. This photograph was captured from Israel and the mountains on the opposite side of the lake are in Jordan.
