Description

This is the area where Jesus reportedly appeared to his disciples after the resurrection. Peter, John and some of the others had been fishing all night and had caught nothing. Then seeing a man on shore and hearing his voice directing them to throw their net to the other side of the boat they decide to try it and subsequently bring in a great haul of fish. After Peter recognizes it is The Lord he jumps out of the boat and swims to shore. Jesus had built a fire and cooked the disciples some fish and bread for breakfast. Following the meal Jesus asked Peter if he loved him three separate times. Each time the question was asked Peter responded in the affirmative, and Jesus responded back to Peter by telling him to feed his sheep or take care of his lambs, thus reinstating Peter into the ministry. It was a morning of a full catch, full stomachs, and reconnection with their resurrected Messiah, but for Peter it was a morning of new beginnings as his soul was restored and his ministry was reinstated by his lord, savior and God.
