Description
This photo was taken during an re-enactment. I have included it among my other pieces because it portrays the reality of another human being defending the freedoms of others. This man I do not know, but he represents the countless men and women who have fought on my behalf, and the behalf of all Americans. I am thankful that there is a lineage of men in my family who have served just as this man in the photograph. My father served in the United States Army for over twenty years. He was stationed in Korea on two occasions and Germany. My brother-in-law was an officer in the US Army and survived a tour in Viet Nam. So, did my uncle. One of my brothers served in the Navy on a submarine and another served in the National Guard. I am thankful that none of their lives were taken in battle, and I am also thankful for the many who have sacrificed their lives that I might live free. I salute you men and women who serve our country For Freedom!
